Job summary

CB&I in Aberdeen is seeking a Senior Structural Designer Contractor for 12 months. The role focuses on structural design for energy sector assets, with offshore site surveys and interface with multi-discipline teams. You will deliver GA/destruct drawings, installation methodology and support change control processes.

The position is outside IR35; Limited Companies are invited to engage. Site travel to offshore and onshore assets is expected as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural design for energy sector assets.
• Ability to work within engineering procedures and codes.
• Willing to travel offshore and perform site surveys.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for structural design of new and modified infrastructure.
• Produce design deliverables including GA, destruct drawings, installation methodology.
• Support estimates and change control; perform site surveys and reviews.
• Interface with disciplines and clients; ensure compliance with HSE and QA.
• Check structural drawings and assist in scope communications.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Services:

• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
• Provide technical information to support estimates for project work scopes
• Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
• Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews / HAZIDS
• provide checking of structural drawings
• Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues
• Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
• Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
• Structural general arrangement drawings

• Weight control reports
• Presentations sketches etc. to assist in scope communications

• Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be preferable but not essential
• Suitable design experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate.
