Job summary

CB&I Asset Solutions is seeking a Principal Structural Designer Contractor for a 12-month role based in Aberdeen, UK. The role involves providing technical leadership for the structural design of energy sector assets, onshore and offshore surveys, and coordination with multiple disciplines.

The position supports estimates, design reviews, and change control processes, with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards. Offshore travel will be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural design for energy assets.
• Ability to interpret engineering data, drawings and specifications.
• Willing to travel offshore/on-site to support projects.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industries preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure in the energy sector.
• Provide input to estimates for project work scopes with technical detail.
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and HAZIDS as required.
• Provide checking and approval of structural drawings and ensure change control is captured.
• Coordinate with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical issues.
• Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
• Ensure compliance with Asset Safety Case and PFEER standards as applicable.

CB&I are seeking a Principal Structural Designer Contractor for 12 month based in Aberdeen, UK.

The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.

Scope of Services:

• Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
• Provide technical information to support estimates for project work scopes
• Provide input to progress and planning meetings as required
• Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring that all design changes are captured by the change control process
• Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets
• Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews / HAZIDS
• Provide checking and approval of structural drawings, complete interdisciplinary checking of documents where necessary.
• Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues
• Provide a level of technical support that satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that the PFEER performance standards ensuring they are not compromised by any discipline engineering activities
• Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards
• Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate
