Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley is seeking a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to lead advanced FEA work on high‑performance components. You will influence designs, partner with the Applied Science group, and push simulation methodologies.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree, deep FEA know‑how, and hands‑on capability with Catia 3DX and HyperWorks; leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical engineering degree (2:1 minimum) or equivalent with automotive/motorsport experience.
  • Strong understanding of FEA methods.
  • Expertise in fatigue, nonlinear material behaviour, and contact analysis.
  • Ability to perform hand calculations; proficient in Excel/VB or Python.
  • Experience with Catia 3DX and FEA HyperWorks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of complex components and assemblies to high standards.
  • Collaborate with Applied Science team to optimise designs for performance and reliability.
  • Advance simulation and analysis methodologies and processes.
  • Document test requests and produce stress reports.

# Senior Structural Analysis Engineer - Non F1Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 TeamUnited KingdomPosted 4 Oct 2026## About this roleThe RoleBrackley, UKA new position has become available for a highly motivated and creative individual to join the Structural Analysis group within the Applied Science department of the Mercedes AMG F1 team.This role will require an inherent aptitude in developing innovative solutions and in actively supporting future design ideas. With a strong technical background in mechanical systems and structural analysis fields, the candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to work pro-actively and in a respectful manner within a group of highly skilled engineers.
