Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist (AfC Band 7) to join our Stroke team on a fixed-term basis in Guildford. The role is full-time (37.5 hours) on a 12-month contract ending 19/11/2027.

You will deliver expert stroke rehabilitation, supervise junior staff, and contribute to discharge planning within a multidisciplinary team, enhancing patient care and service development.

Qualifications

• Essential: Acute NHS experience with expert knowledge in stroke rehabilitation.
• Current HCPC registration is required.
• Full HCPC membership and registration to practice as an Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients on the ward within the Stroke team.
• Supervise Band 5s and 6s; contribute to education of OT students.
• Discharge planning and onward referral in MDT pathways.
• Develop and maintain pathways to improve patient care in line with guidance.
