Job summary

Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 6) for the Older Person's Unit on a fixed-term maternity cover. Part-time 22.5 hours (Mon, Tue, Wed) in Guildford, join a vibrant team dedicated to elderly care and rehabilitation.

The role involves complex discharge planning, management of a diverse caseload, and supervision of Band 5s. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support patient goals in self-care, productivity and leisure.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in OT by recognised awarding body e.g. Royal College of Occupational therapists.
• Must satisfy the criteria for full membership of the HCPC.
• Further qualifications/study.
• Driving licence (and use of own car for work purposes).

Responsibilities

• Development, administration and provision of a specialist OT service; varied caseload.
• Directly manage own caseload with complex physical and psychological conditions.
• Assist in supervision and education of OT students and junior staff.
• Support discharge planning and multi-disciplinary team collaboration.
