Job summary

Auxitrol Weston, Farnborough, is seeking an experienced Stress Engineer to join the Engineering team. You will analyze and design mechanical components to ensure strength and integrity, supporting product development for gas turbine sensors.

The role involves hands-on stress analysis, CAD/FEA modelling, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver robust designs and clear technical reports. You will contribute to continuous improvement in test methodologies and NPI activities.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level in Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
Strong understanding of structural mechanics and numerical methods.
Proficiency with CAD and FEA software.
Experience with linear static, linear dynamic, modal/vibration, and thermal analysis.
Knowledge of aerospace materials and standards.
Ability to plan, organise and manage work.

Responsibilities

Perform stress analyses to assess structural integrity of systems and components.
Use CAD/FEA to model structures under complex loads.
Carry out hand calculations to verify FEA results and safety factors.
Evaluate life span of structures under dynamic loading and temperature.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project managers.
Prepare technical reports and communicate results to stakeholders.
Contribute to NPI processes and product development.
