Job summary

Streetscene Operative Level 4 (LGV Mechanic) is based at Alltami Depot. The role involves maintaining, servicing and repairing a fleet of vehicles, plants and equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with operating licenses.

The post holder will supervise other Streetscene staff, operate a range of vehicles including HGVs, and work outdoors in inclement weather with regular driving duties.

Qualifications

• Qualified, time served craft operative with wide knowledge on maintenance of specialist vehicles and plant.
• Experience in welding, fabrication, auto-electrics, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, diagnostics and MOT preparation.
• Ability to operate a wide range of HGV and plant safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service and repair Council vehicles, plant and equipment in line with legislation and policies.
• Supervise Streetscene colleagues to ensure required standards of work.
• Carry out manual/supervisory work including HGV driving and operation of specialist equipment.
• Carry out winter maintenance and driving duties as required.
