Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter/Technician to service, inspect and repair heavy goods vehicles. You will perform day-to-day servicing, MOT preparation, and repairs to keep vehicles on the road for street-side operatives serving customers.

Attend roadside breakdowns when required. Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification (or equivalent), an HGV licence, and are capable of accurate paperwork and timesheets, with strong fault-finding and adherence to manufacturer

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter/Technician.
• NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Qualification or equivalent preferred.
• HGV driving licence is required.
• Ability to complete paperwork and timesheets accurately.
• Willingness to attend roadside breakdowns when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day servicing, MOT preparation and repairs of HGVs.
• Keep HGVs safely on the road for street-side operatives serving customers.
• Carry out routine vehicle inspections, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.
• Repair and maintain Veolia fleet, third-party vehicles and plant to standards.
• Complete paperwork and timesheets accurately.
• Attend roadside breakdowns when required.
