Job Description
This role has a starting salary of £68,774 per annum based on a 36-hour working week.
This is an 18-month fixed-term contract or secondment opportunity.
We are excited to be hiring a new Senior Strategic Commercial Manager to join our Workplace & Facilities Team, part of the Land & Property Service. You will join a team that values professional development and supports a commercial and agile approach to its diverse portfolio, supporting our services in delivering for residents.
Our team is based at Woodhatch Place in Reigate. To meet customer needs, we work flexibly, including operating out of different office bases, working from home, and collaborating in the office.

About the Role

The Land & Property team is transforming Surrey County Council's property portfolio in line with the Asset & Place Strategy (2019-2030), managing over 1500 assets valued at over £2bn, with a revenue budget exceeding £35m annually.
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Workplace & Facilities and collaborating with the Macro team (our strategic FM partner), you will provide strategic direction for facilities management and make day-to-day commercial decisions. This role will also play a strategic part in the upcoming Local Government Review.

Local Government Reorganisation
Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation to implement devolution policies, giving more powers to local areas. This will result in a smaller number of unitary councils by April 2027, into which this role will transfer with existing terms.
