Intertek is seeking a Senior Stores Assistant in Aberdeen to lead day-to-day Stores operations, ensuring smooth, efficient and compliant processes.

You will review and streamline procedures, manage stock, coordinate logistics, and support the Stores Manager by handling warehousing tasks and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a hands-on approach, strong organisation and stellar communication with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Forklift experience advantageous.
  • Previous stores/warehouse experience.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office packages.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule logistics to ensure orders and internal requests are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Oversee the yard area to maintain tidiness, safe practices, and proper waste disposal.
  • Review waste disposal practices and ensure containers are used and collected by the vendor.
  • Update live stock spreadsheet daily and maintain batch records for each client order.
  • Transfer stock from media lab to Stores and update the live stock sheet.
  • Compare physical stock with live stock spreadsheet monthly.
  • Pack and label Dangerous Goods according to DG Regulations.
  • Receive, unpack and distribute deliveries as required.
  • Assist with loading/unloading of deliveries.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Stores Assistant to join our successful team in Aberdeen. We’re looking for an organised, proactive and reliable individual to take ownership of the day-to-day Stores activities, supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Aberdeen site.

Key Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Forklift experience advantageous
  • Previous stores/warehouse experience

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Senior Stores Assistant, you will take the lead in the day-to-day operations of the Stores team, ensuring the smooth, efficient and effective running of the function. You will also play a key role in reviewing and streamlining processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and create additional capacity. By taking ownership of the operational side of the Stores function, you will enable the Media & Stores Manager to focus greater time and energy on developing client relationships, growing sales opportunities, and expanding the business’s manufactured test kits and purchase-for-resale product offering.

Key activities:

  • Coordinate and schedule logistics to ensure all customer orders and internal requests for sample or other deliveries are achieved accurately and on time in accordance with company procedures
  • Overseeing the back-yard area to ensure it is tidy and in reasonable order, to ensure safe operating practices and a smooth running within the yard area to ensure that the disposal of waste as required
  • Review our waste disposal practices and areas within the yard to ensure that the waste disposal containers are used effectively and collected as required by the assigned vendor
  • Support the booking out stock for goods packed updating the “live” stock spreadsheet daily for any client orders. Maintaining and updating batch record information for each individual client order
  • Support the transfer of stock from the media lab to Stores and updating the “live” stock sheet
  • Compare physical stock count with “live” stock spreadsheet monthly
  • Packaging of Dangerous Goods (DG) as per DG Regulations
  • Provide receipt of deliveries, unpacking and distributing thereafter as necessary
  • Assist with loading/unloading of deliveries
