Job summary

Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital is seeking a Senior Staff Nurse for a permanent, part-time role (30 hours per week). You will be registered with the NMC and bring mentoring and multi-specialty surgical experience to provide high-quality patient care in a supportive team environment.

You will lead nursing staff, supervise students, and contribute to day-to-day operations of the Outpatients department, ensuring safe, compassionate care and adherence to hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with appropriate governing body (NMC)
• Post-registration experience and mentoring ability
• Experience with multi-specialty surgical procedures is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health approach to care
• Be flexible with working patterns to meet service needs
• Mentor junior colleagues and supervise nursing staff and students
• Apply excellent clinical skills and empathetic care to meet patient needs
• Provide day-to-day supervision and contribute to audits, inductions, and performance reviews
• Support management tasks and the smooth operation of the Outpatients department

As a Senior StaffNurse, you will:

• Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health way of caring.
• Be flexible with working patterns to meet the needs of the service.
• Recognise talent and nurture junior colleagues, mentoring them to be the best they can be
• Use your excellent clinical skills and empathetic approach to meet each patient’s needs
• Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care
• Provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students
• Support the Outpatient Clinical Head of Department by contributing to managerial tasks e.g. scheduling and rotas, audits, induction, performance reviews and training.
• Support the Outpatient Clinical Head of Department to oversee smooth day to day operation of the Outpatients department
