The multi-specialty unit features 13 main operating theatres and 2 Day Surgery theatres, performing both emergency and elective procedures. We are leaders in Major Laparoscopic Surgery & Robotic Surgery, with the Minimal Access Therapy Training Unit, an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence for teaching innovative laparoscopic surgical techniques.
Specialties include: Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecologic Oncology, Hepatobiliary, Upper GI, Breast Surgery, Ophthalmology, Obstetrics, Major Head and Neck, ENT, Trauma & Orthopaedics, and CEPOD. We are the Regional referral centre for Upper GI work, including emergency Oesophagogastric cases.
A purpose-built unit covering many specialties such as ENT, Maxillofacial, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, Pain, and Paediatric lists.
As a Registered Nurse/ODP, you should have theatre experience across a range of specialties, proven leadership skills, and be prepared to support the department during evenings and weekends. An on-call commitment is also required.

Assist the sister/charge nurse in leading the nursing team to provide high-quality, research-based, patient-centered care.
Act as a role model for less experienced nurses, ensuring proper planning, implementation, and evaluation of perioperative care.
Support staff development and foster a multidisciplinary approach to patient care in line with Clinical Governance.
