Job summary

Nuffield Health invites applications for a Senior Staff Nurse at Woking Hospital. The role is permanent, full-time and includes weekend work. Salary up to £46,000 depending on experience, with a 37.5 hour week.

You will be NMC registered and bring mentoring, teaching and assessment skills, plus management experience. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team within a private hospital environment and contribute to high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Be NMC registered and a qualified nurse.
• Ideally have a qualification in teaching and assessment.
• Mentoring experience or a Level 2 or 3 management qualification.
• Experience with multi-specialty surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health approach to care.
• Mentor junior staff and nurture their development to reach their potential.
• Provide day-to-day supervision including supervision of junior nurses and students.
• Involve in scheduling, recruitment, induction, performance reviews, training and mentoring.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team to adopt new practices, equipment and facilities.

The Role

As a Senior Staff Nurse at our hospital, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including NMC. As well as post-registration experience, you bring knowledge of mentoring and multi-specialty surgical procedures. Ideally, you hold qualifications in teaching and assessment, and management.

• Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health way of caring
• Recognise talent, nurture junior members of staff and mentor them to be the best nurses they can be
• Use clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient's need
• Be part of a multidisciplinary team and work with some of the best clinical talent around to experience new practices, equipment and facilities
• Provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students
• Work scheduling and rotas; involvement in recruitment, induction and performance reviews, training, development and mentoring

The Person

To succeed as a Senior Staff Nurse you will; Be NMC registered and be a qualified nurse Ideally have a qualification in teaching and assessment, together with some mentoring experience or a Level 2 or 3 management qualification Have experience of multi-specialty surgical procedures, plus further professional training and experience. Preferably, a qualification in a specialist area Have excellent clinical skills and experience in a mentoring role Helping you feel good.
