Job summary

Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital in London is seeking a Senior Staff Nurse to lead a multi-specialty surgical team. You will be NMC registered with substantial post-registration experience in acute care, and you’ll bring strong clinical judgment, mentoring flair and a proactive approach to patient care.

You’ll work full-time shifts including nights and weekends, with opportunities for professional development and autonomy in clinical decision-making within a supportive hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must be NMC registered with substantial post-registration acute care experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a nursing team across specialties.
• Teaching, assessment and management qualifications preferred.

Ward Shifts are: Long days 07.30am-20.00pm and nights are 20.00pm -07.30am On average 4 night a month. 14 shifts per month

As a Senior Staff Nurse at our Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital you will be NMC registered and have significant post-registration experience in an acute or relevant clinical setting. You will have strong clinical decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills. You will have the proven ability to lead, mentor, and support a nursing team of multi-specialty surgical proceduresand you will bring knowledge of mentoring and multi-specialty surgical procedures. Ideally, you hold qualifications in teaching,, assessment and management.

As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will:

• Lead by example and be an ambassador for the Nuffield Health way of caring
• Recognise talent and nurture junior colleagues, mentoring them to be the best they can be
• Use your excellent clinical skills and empathetic approach to meet each patient’s needs
• Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care
• Provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students
• Contribute to scheduling and rotas, recruitment, induction, performance reviews and training
