Senior SRE — Build a Global Cloud Reliability Practice

Job summary

Omnicell is recruiting a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design and run the first reliability practice for a cloud-native SaaS platform serving hospitals. You will set SLOs, incident models, observability standards, and guide AI-driven operations initiatives.

You will hands-on instrument critical services, own runbooks and dashboards, and coach engineers while scaling the SRE team over 12–18 months.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading SRE, DevOps, or platform engineering teams building a practice from zero.
• Deep hands-on expertise with at least one major public cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design and management.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Proficiency in Python or similar language for automation.
• Kubernetes administration with secure, compliant configurations.
• Hands-on observability stack design (DataDog/Prometheus/Grafana/OpenTelemetry).
• Familiarity with AI/ML-based anomaly detection or AIOps is a plus.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA/SOC 2).

Responsibilities

• Instrument Tier-1 services: dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
• Lead Sev-1/Sev-2 incidents and drive postmortems.
• Contribute code and infrastructure-as-code to the platform.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and consolidate tooling.
• Administer and scale Kubernetes clusters with secure configurations.
• Run chaos and failover exercises to validate resilience.
• Architect and drive AI-driven operations initiatives.
• Coach and grow junior engineers and shape the SRE team.
