Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, observability and operational health of cloud infrastructure in Manchester. You will use SLOs to decide which improvements matter and help grow the team capabilities.

The role involves designing infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, capacity planning and on-call support, working with development, security and product teams to bake reliability into delivery.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in SRE, DevOps or infrastructure engineering running production services at scale.
• Proven record of improving reliability against defined SLOs.
• Experience supervising, coaching or mentoring engineers.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Calm, structured problem solving under pressure during incidents.
• Desirable: relevant cloud certs (GCP, Kubernetes) and regulated environment exposure.

Responsibilities

• Manages development/operation of significant data management system aspects with guidance.
• Designs and maintains infrastructure as code, automation and tooling to reduce manual toil.
• Improves release safety through CI/CD pipelines and rollback practices.
• Plans capacity and performance, conducts resilience and load testing.
• Participates in on-call rota and acts as escalation point.
• Collaborates with development, security and product teams to embed reliability in design/delivery.
