Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own reliability, observability and operational health of cloud infrastructure in Manchester. You will use SLOs to guide improvements and help grow the engineering capability of the team.

In this 6-12 month contract, you will design, build and operate infrastructure as code, improve release safety with CI/CD, plan capacity and resilience, and participate in on-call escalation.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in SRE, DevOps or infra engineering at scale.
• Proven record of improving reliability against defined SLOs.
• Experience supervising or mentoring engineers.
• Clear written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Calm, structured problem solving under pressure during incidents.

Responsibilities

• Manage development and operation of significant aspects of the data management system, with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Design, build and maintain infrastructure as code, automation and tooling that remove manual toil.
• Improve release safety through CI/CD pipelines, progressive delivery and rollback practices.
• Plan capacity and performance, and carry out resilience, failover and load testing.
• Take part in the on‑call rota and act as an escalation point for the area.
• Work with development, security and product teams to embed reliability in design and delivery.
