Job summary

SCC in Birmingham (UK) is seeking an experienced Tech Specialist - SQL Administrator to own enterprise SQL Server platforms, both on-prem and in the cloud, ensuring health, performance, security and availability. You will collaborate with Infrastructure, Security and Project teams on modernization, automation and operational excellence initiatives in a hybrid work environment with core hours 9:00 to 17:30.

Qualifications

Advanced, hands-on DBA expertise across multiple SQL Server versions and environments.
Proven knowledge of SQL Server architecture, administration and troubleshooting.
Experience with cloud-hosted SQL platforms (Azure SQL Database/Managed Instance, AWS RDS/EC2 for SQL Server).
Strong skills in high availability, DR, security and replication for SQL Server.

Responsibilities

Own architecture, tuning, performance and support strategy for enterprise SQL Server infrastructure (on-premises and cloud).
Lead complex SQL Server incidents, service requests and root-cause analysis to ensure permanent resolution.
Lead lifecycle activities: installation, upgrades, patching, migrations and decommissioning.
