Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to deliver specialist care for adults with complex neurological conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will lead, supervise and develop a growing neurorehabilitation service, including Level 2 beds and FEES provision, while working with a multidisciplinary team across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Specialist clinical experience relevant to the role.
• Management/leadership experience relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist Speech and Language Therapy across Level 1 and Level 2 neurorehabilitation pathways and outpatient services.
• Manage a complex caseload of patients with communication, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders.
• Provide clinical supervision, teaching and support for Speech and Language Therapists, assistants and students.
• Contribute to development and implementation of the Level 2 neurorehabilitation service, including pathway development and service improvement initiatives with the MDT.
• Support the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based care through clinical leadership and competency development.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and system partners across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire West.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement, clinical governance and innovation in specialist neurorehabilitation.
• Support development of specialist dysphagia services including FEES, depending on experience and competency.
• Act as a senior clinical resource to shape future delivery of rehabilitation services across OCE.
• Participate in extended hours, seven-day and weekend working as required.
• Provide assessment, diagnosis and intervention for patients with complex communication, feeding and swallowing difficulties including tracheostomy-related needs.
