Active Neuro, the specialist neurorehabilitation division of Active Care Group in Nottingham, is seeking a Lead Speech and Language Therapist to lead advanced clinical practice and service development for adults with complex neurological needs.

You will supervise therapy assistants, shape SLT provision, drive evidence-based practice, and work with the MDT to achieve meaningful outcomes. HCPC registration and senior clinical experience are essential.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration.
• Clinical competence in dysphagia management and communication disorders after neurological injury or illness.
• Significant post-qualification experience within neurorehabilitation or complex care settings.
• Experience in supporting, supervising or developing therapy assistants or junior colleagues.
• Confidence in specialist assessment, complex case management, and formulation of individualised therapy plans.
• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration skills to influence best practice across the MDT.
• Commitment to evidence-based, person-centred care and driving quality improvement.

Responsabilités

• Delivering highly specialist SLT assessment and intervention for adults with complex needs after neurological injury or illness.
• Assessing and managing complex communication and swallowing difficulties and developing evidence-based treatment plans.
• Planning, delivering and evaluating communication therapy groups that are meaningful and person-centred.
• Working with the MDT to influence rehabilitation planning and maximise client outcomes.
• Acting as Key Worker, supporting coordinated care, discharge planning and transitions.
• Providing clinical supervision and line management to therapy assistants.
• Sharing specialist knowledge across the MDT through training and collaboration.
• Contributing to clinical governance, safeguarding, professional standards and regulatory compliance.
• Identifying opportunities to improve SLT provision and develop clinical pathways.
• Supporting outpatient service development and extending therapy provision beyond inpatient settings.
• Building relationships with external organisations to develop neurorehabilitation services.
