Job summary

Elysium Healthcare in the United Kingdom is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to manage a complex caseload in a multidisciplinary setting. You will work independently with supervision as needed, conducting detailed assessments and supporting decision-making for communication and swallowing disorders.

In this role you will lead therapy groups, mentor assistants and collaborate with psychology on capacity issues, contributing to high‑quality care planning and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration required.
• Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia.
• Experience of working with families.

Responsibilities

• Take full personal, professional and legal responsibility for your own specialist caseload.
• Carry out detailed communication and swallowing assessments using formal and informal tools.
• Contribute to differential diagnosis and prognosis.
• Provide explanations of complex communication, voice and swallowing difficulties to residents, families and carers.
• Lead communication-focused therapeutic groups and train therapy assistants and carers.
• Support colleagues in delivering individual communication and swallowing programmes.
• Collaborate with Psychology on complex capacity issues.
• Attend clinical and management meetings and contribute to care planning.
