Valence School is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our specialist school therapy team, delivering high quality SLT in an educational setting. You will work within an MDT to support children and young people with complex communication needs, embedding strategies into daily routines and contributing to EHCP processes.
This role is 30 hours per week, term-time, with flexibility on hours.
(Salary equivalent to NHS Band 6)
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Speech and Languagetherapist to join our specialist school therapy team supporting children andyoung people with complex communication needs. You will deliver high qualityspeech and language therapy to students within an educational setting embeddingstrategies into daily routines. Workingwithin a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) you will help remove communicationbarriers and support students' engagement, learning and wellbeing. The role isadvertised as 30 hours per week, term time only although we are flexible onworking hours and days.
This role offers the opportunity to deliver high quality, evidence-basedtherapy providing assessment, targeted intervention and support to studentswith a range of complex needs, working with a multidisciplinary therapy teamacross education and residential settings.
The role will manage a defined case load, contribute to EHCP processesand support staff in embedding communication strategies into daily practice.
You will be a HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist with significantpost qualification experience and have experience supporting children or youngpeople with complex communication needs. You will have strong assessment,intervention and clinical reasoning skills, be confident workingcollaboratively and bewilling to undertake dysphagia training if required. Experience working in aneducational setting would be advantageous but is not essential.
