Job summary

Reeson Education is recruiting a Band 6 or Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join an Outstanding specialist college in Hillingdon on a maternity cover contract. You will assess communication and eating/drinking needs, manage your own caseload, deliver universal and individual interventions, and support AAC within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

HCPC registration is required, as is eligibility for RC SLT membership; experience with learning disabilities and autism is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy is required.
• HCPC registration is required.
• Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Experience with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess communication, eating and drinking needs using formal and informal assessments.
• Manage your own clinical caseload independently.
• Deliver universal and individual Speech and Language Therapy interventions.
• Support students through AAC and other communication methods.
• Coach, mentor and train teaching and support staff.
• Collaborate with families, schools and external professionals for successful transitions.
• Promote independence and positive outcomes for learners.

Are you a passionate Speech and Language Therapist looking for a rewarding role where you can genuinely transform lives?

We are recruiting a Band 6 or Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join an Outstanding specialist college in Hillingdon on a maternity cover contract.

Working with young adults aged 16+ with learning disabilities, autism and complex communication needs, you'll play a vital role in helping students develop the communication, independence and life skills they need to thrive beyond education.

As a Speech and Language Therapist, you'll work within a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering creative, person-centred therapy that makes a lasting difference.

Your responsibilities:

• Assessing communication, eating and drinking needs using formal and informal assessments.
• Managing your own clinical caseload independently.
• Delivering both universal and individual Speech and Language Therapy interventions.
• Supporting students through Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
• Coaching, mentoring and training teaching and support staff.
• Working closely with families, schools, employers and external professionals to ensure successful transitions.
• Promoting independence, inclusion and positive outcomes for every learner.

You’ll have:

• A degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
• HCPC registration.
• Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs.
• Experience with communication assessments, AAC and eating and drinking.
