Senior Specifications Technologist

Position: Permanent

Location: Bala

Salary: A£35,000 - A£38,000

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (2-3 days working from home)

Job Overview

Our reputable FMCG client is seeking a Senior Specifications Technologist responsible for managing and administering retailer systems and supporting the specification team.

Main Responsibilities

1. Writing and completing finished product specifications for retailers, customers, and own brand products.
2. Supplier specification approval and onboarding.
3. Ensuring compliance with primary account requirements, including retailer/customer codes of practice and standards.
4. Managing critical path tasks for primary accounts.
5. Administering retailer systems, including specifications and artwork systems, and communicating notifications internally.
6. Generating pack copies for own brand specifications, including sub and legal name generation.
7. Reviewing and approving artwork, liaising with third parties, retailers, and print houses.
8. Supporting the NPD team with nutritional calculations and product submissions.
9. Performing cross-checks on factory paperwork, recipes, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
10. Conducting specification cross-checks before submission.
11. Basic understanding of Brexit requirements and code calculations.
12. Supporting additional projects such as packaging matrix and product information reviews.
13. Supporting raw material specification knowledge and supplier approval processes.
14. Maintaining awareness of BRC and retailer audit requirements.

Experience and Skills

• Experience in a senior specifications role within the food industry.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy skills.
• Effective communication skills across various channels.
• Strong collaboration abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent organization and coordination skills, capable of working under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
