Job summary

Outwood Academy Ormesby in Middlesbrough is seeking a Specialist Teaching Assistant to deliver high-level support and manage complex student caseloads. You will provide specialist knowledge on adaptations and resources to boost GCSE attainment and track progress closely.

The role requires HLTA standards or equivalent, strong reporting skills, and experience with EHCPs. It offers a structured, supportive environment with professional development and a pension scheme.

Qualifications

• HLTA standards or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience.
• Knowledge of needs of students with learning difficulties and SEND Code of Practice.
• Ability to write comprehensive reports, risk assessments and Individual Health Care Plans with data to measure progress.

Responsibilities

• Manage a student caseload and provide specialist advice on adaptations and resources.
• Meticulously track EHCP life skill targets and academic outcomes; lead EHCP Reviews.
• Deliver intensive intervention programmes to groups and complete welfare documents (risk assessments, IHCP).
• Lead Exam Access Arrangements administration and testing; support inclusion rooms.
• Support safeguarding and maintain compliant records in line with policies.
