Job summary

MDA Space UK is seeking a Senior Product Assurance Engineer to join our Harwell/Stevenage team. You will lead QA/PA activities across ESA/NASA and commercial programs, ensuring compliance from design to disposal, and mentor junior engineers.

You will drive the preparation of PA plans, manage non-conformances, and coordinate reviews with customers and suppliers to safeguard mission success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field with relevant discipline.
• 5+ years delivering Product Assurance on ESA/NASA and commercial programs.
• Proven experience with electronic, electromechanical and optical systems design and test.
• Experience with EEE Parts, Materials & Processes, Radiation Hardness Assurance, RAMS.
• Full project lifecycle experience in ESA/NASA missions.
• Experience writing technical documents and standards compliance.
• Knowledge of ECSS standards (ECSS-Q-ST-10/60/70) and ISO 9001/AS 9100.
• Root cause analysis and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Product Assurance work packages across multiple projects.
• Prepare project-specific Product Assurance Plans and verify compliance across supply chain.
• Lead EEE parts, materials and processes assurance activities and documentation.
• Lead design, manufacturing, assembly, integration and test reviews.
• Chair reviews (EQSR, PDR, SRR, CDR, MRR, TRB).
• Participate in customer/supplier design and development reviews.
• Produce End Item Data Pack and PA documentation (QSL, CIL, CIDL).
• Oversee non-conformances/change control (NRB, FRB, CCB).
• Review processes, drawings, procedures, test data and inspection records.
• Support in-house QMS activities, audits and continuous improvement.
• Act as focal point for quality and PA with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Promote quality culture and best practices; mentor junior engineers.
• Assist Business Development in proposals.
