The role |
As a Senior Sous Chef, you will be an inspirational leader, fostering a positive environment for your team and guests. You will support continuous coaching and development of your team to reach their potential while driving restaurant performance and achieving excellent results.
What you do |
- Create a positive environment where your team feels cared for and listened to, celebrating successes and nurturing talent within your team. Role model a coaching culture within the management team.
- Ensure an exceptional guest experience by maintaining high standards in dish preparation and equipping your team with the necessary skills and mindset.
- Maintain spotless food, health, and safety standards in your kitchen. Understand the financial performance of your kitchen, including gross profit, stock control, and labour costs, and proactively spot opportunities for improvement.
- Build a coaching culture within your team, working with your Head Chef on recruitment and ongoing development. Foster personal and professional growth within your team.
- Be a forward-thinking problem solver, capable of quick decision-making and thinking on your feet.
What we look for |
- Experience leading a kitchen team as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, driving performance through positive actions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with genuine conversations that ensure your team feels heard and supported.
- Experience maintaining high standards in food, health, and safety.
- Understanding of kitchen financials, including gross profit and stock control.
- Ability to manage labour costs and adapt to changing demands.
- Leadership qualities that inspire and engage your team to flourish in their roles and careers.
- A passion for creating an inclusive environment where your team feels respected and that they belong.
- A forward-thinking problem solver, able to make quick decisions.
