Job summary

Butcombe Group is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join our team in one of the UK’s most picturesque locations. You will work alongside the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly, safely and efficiently while delivering exceptional food.

You will lead, mentor and develop the kitchen team, contribute to stock control and compliance, and help shape a positive, high-performing culture across our pubs and inns.

Qualifications

• Experience as a sous chef in hospitality is desirable.
• Strong cooking skills and flair for high-quality food.
• Ability to lead and mentor a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Working with Head Chef to run the kitchen smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
• Support with food prep, service and day-to-day kitchen management.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Coach and develop chefs within the team; share knowledge.
• Assist with stock, ordering and kitchen compliance.
• Lead in Head Chef's absence and support wider kitchen development.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, high-performing kitchen culture.
