Thwaites in Keswick is seeking an enthusiastic Sous Chef to help lead our skilled kitchen team. You will support the Head Chef, spend your days serving delicious food in a well-equipped kitchen, and develop your skills under a talented Head Chef.

You will have experience with fresh ingredients and a flair for cooking, following recipes while bringing innovative ideas to the table. A clear path to national qualifications is available as you progress up the ladder.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking with fresh ingredients and from-scratch recipes.
• Ability to follow menu specs while maintaining high standards.
• Strong teamwork and leadership potential in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef with kitchen management and operations.
• Produce high-standard dishes from scratch for all menus.
• Manage a kitchen section and food preparation with fresh ingredients.
• Eliminate wasteful or unprofitable practices and monitor costs.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and hygiene.
• Control order and storage of food supplies.
• Support delivery of financial targets through efficient service.
