Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Sous Chef to join Priory Court Care Home in Stamford. You will support the Head Chef in delivering nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents within budget, with a focus on compassion and consistency.

Applicants should have a relevant catering qualification, at least 1 year of catering experience, and be adaptable to cover a range of duties. A DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant catering qualification (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent).
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to quality kitchen services for residents.
• Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in leading a culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced meals within budget.
• Prepare meals and supervise kitchen staff on food preparation activities.
• Ensure high hygiene standards and safe food handling in line with the Avery Food safety management system.
• Assist culinary team in adhering to IDDSI guidance and modified diets where required.
