Platinum Recruitment Consultancy is seeking a Senior Sous Chef for a busy wedding venue near St Neots. You will support the Head Chef, lead the kitchen team, and ensure top quality food for events over 100 guests.

The role offers a 45-hour contract with rotas planned a month in advance, excellent development opportunities, free meals, parking, and a pension. Live-in accommodation is not available.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience at senior sous chef level, ideally in a wedding venue, banqueting or high-volume events.

Responsibilities

Your new role

As Senior Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef with the daily operation of a busy wedding venue near St Neots. You'll help lead food preparation and service for events of more than 100 guests while maintaining consistently high standards.

You will:

• Deputise for the Head Chef when required
• Lead and support the kitchen team
• Prepare and present modern British dishes using fresh ingredients
• Maintain quality and consistency during busy events
• Support menu planning and the testing of new dishes
• Complete kitchen administration and respond to emails
• Follow food safety, HACCP and allergen procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen
• Complete occasional lone-working shifts when required

What we're looking for

The successful Senior Sous Chef will have at least two years' experience at a comparable level, ideally within a wedding venue, banqueting or high-volume events operation.

You’ll also need:

• Experience catering for more than 100 guests
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A calm and organised approach under pressure
• A genuine passion for fresh food
• Your own transport due to the countryside location
• The existing right to work full-time in the UK
