Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Sonographer to join its Ultrasound team in a 37.5 hour week. The role requires a Pg Dip in Medical Ultrasound, HCPC registration, and CASE/obstetric ultrasound accreditation. Flexible working options and potential weekend cover are noted.

The post holder will deliver diagnostic ultrasound services, mentor radiographers and sonographers, and contribute to service development within a dynamic imaging department.

Qualifications

• Graduate Radiographer or equivalent.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound.
• State registered with the HCPC.
• Post graduate qualification/ experience in obstetric ultrasound.
• Nuchal translucency accredited (foetal medicine foundation and DQUASS accreditation).
• MSc in Medical Ultrasound or additional modules or training for these.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the welfare and comfort of the patient whilst under the care of the radiology department, prior, during and post the ultrasound examination.
• Provide a high standard of ultrasound work, ensuring departmental standards and quality issues are observed.
• We will welcome informal visits to view the facilities and discuss the job role in more detail.
