Job summary

Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Sonographer / Midwife Sonographer to join our busy Ultrasound team. The role covers Gloucester Royal Hospital and other county sites, with independent reporting and involvement in trainee development.

The successful candidate will hold a UK qualification in ultrasound (PG Cert/Dip/DMU) and be state registered. Permanent contract, 37.5 hours/week, supportive team, and strong development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• UK professional registration is essential.
• Postgraduate diploma/Masters in Ultrasound or equivalent.
• Current registration and evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Experience in obstetric ultrasound and reporting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as independent reporting practitioner within the ultrasound service.
• Provide clinical reports for own patient workload and maintain quality standards.
• Offer training and supervision for trainees and newly qualified sonographers.
• Contribute to maintaining a 7-day service across sites (08:00–20:00).
