Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Sonographer to join the Ultrasound Department at Royal Preston Hospital, with potential rotation to other local sites.

The post supports postgraduates and trainees alike, offering further training in specialised fields and an opportunity to develop advanced practice skills in obstetrics, gynaecology, abdominal, breast, paediatrics, musculoskeletal and vascular ultrasound.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sonographer (advanced practice optional).
• Applications from trainee sonographers nearing qualification will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in the ultrasound training for postgraduate diplomas/certificates.
• Undertake a wide range of ultrasound examinations and produce medical reports.
• Assist authorised medical staff in ultrasound examinations.
• Mentor student radiographers and contribute to CPD and appraisal processes.
• Work independently, delivering high standards of patient care in a busy department.
