Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated Sonographer to join the ultrasound department at Royal Preston Hospital. The role entails working mainly at Preston with potential rotation to other sites, as part of a skilled team.

We offer opportunities for further training in specialised ultrasound areas and strong clinical support for both trainee and qualified sonographers. The post is a permanent full-time position with salary in the advertised range.

Qualifications

• Case accredited Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Medical Ultrasound.
• Mandatory professional registration (HCPC/NMC).
• Ability to report on ultrasound examinations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a wide range of ultrasound procedures and produce reports on at least 95% of those procedures.
• Include obstetrics, gynaecology, general abdominal, breast, paediatrics, musculoskeletal and vascular ultrasound.
• Provide supervision to other Sonographers and delegated Medical staff.
• Assist authorised medical staff in Ultrasound examinations when required.
• Participate in training and mentoring of student radiographers and CPD activities.
• Participate in appraisal and formulate a PDP for ongoing development.
