About The Role

Camunda is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our newly formed Business Solutions team. This team is pioneering Camunda 8-based domain solutions that extend our core orchestration platform into industry-specific applications. You’ll be at the forefront of designing, building, and maintaining full‑stack solutions ready to deploy for customers.

What You’ll Be Doing
Solution Engineering & Architecture
  • Designs and builds full‑stack, Camunda 8-based domain solutions for specific industry use cases.
  • Develops maintainable, production‑ready solution assets: processes, connectors, job workers, LLM/agent instructions & markup, documentation, and deployment guidance.
  • Understands Agentic Orchestration patterns and domain‑specific AI requirements (e.g., LLM fine‑tuning), allowing them to build fit‑for‑purpose process solutions that balance dynamic (agentic) and deterministic process automation.
Core Engineering Development Expertise
  • Builds enterprise‑grade frontend (JavaScript/React) and backend (Java/Spring Boot) components that build on enterprise platform solutions (workflow engines, integration platforms, or similar solutions), automating real‑life enterprise processes or solving real‑life enterprise challenges.
  • Designs and implements solutions that solve real‑world enterprise challenges, integrating multiple systems, data sources, and user workflows.
  • Applies best‑practice, strong Engineering fundamentals in their approach (e.g., SDLC, versioning, enterprise‑grade integration).
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Works closely with product management and product architecture to define solution scope and capabilities.
  • Partners with core product teams to influence platform improvements that unlock new solution potential.
Entrepreneurial and Consulting Mindset
  • Acts as a builder and problem solver, able to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Balances speed of delivery with engineering rigor, ensuring solutions are maintainable and reusable.
What You Bring

Fullstack Engineering Proficiency: Strong hands‑on experience with both backend (Java, Spring Boot) and frontend (JavaScript/React) technologies, with a proven ability to design and deliver scalable, maintainable enterprise solutions (making use of enterprise software platforms).

Shipping business solutions track record: Experience building or maintaining domain‑specific process solutions for industries such as finance, logistics, or customer service.

Camunda 8 or Similar Platform Experience: Deep understanding of workflow engines, integration platforms, or process automation systems; capable of leveraging these technologies to solve complex business problems.

Solution‑Building Mindset: Demonstrated ability to translate business and domain requirements into end‑to‑end technical solutions, integrating multiple systems and ensuring production readiness.

AI Acumen and understanding of Agentic-based automation concepts: Understands the architecture behind agent‑based automations, and can design fit‑for‑purpose solutions utilizing commoditized AI services (such as AWS and GCP provided LLMs).

Collaboration & Ownership: Thrives in a cross‑functional setup, partnering with product management, architecture, and engineering peers while taking ownership of outcomes from design through delivery.

Entrepreneurial Drive: Operates with a builder’s mindset, balancing creativity, speed, and technical rigor to create tangible, high‑value solutions for customers.

Nice‑to‑haves
  • Familiarity with Camunda 8 ecosystem components (e.g., connectors, workers, SDKs) and their deployment in Kubernetes or cloud environments.
  • Prior consulting or professional services experience helping customers design and implement workflow or integration solutions.
  • Contributions to open source projects, especially within the process automation, integration, or enterprise software space.
Compensation

We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location‑based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition.

The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) shown below spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and we typically hire in the first half of the range to allow room for growth:

  • United States : $143,800.00 to $231,900.00
  • Germany : €92,900.00 to €153,700.00
  • United Kingdom : £90,300.00 to £148,500.00
  • Singapore : S$178,600.00 to S$267,900.00
