Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to provide technical leadership across programmes, shaping secure, resilient designs that meet customer needs and enterprise principles. You will influence roadmaps and lead architectural reviews in a blended hybrid working model with on-site collaboration at UK offices.

Based in the UK, the role may be Bristol or another site with hybrid options, emphasising mentoring engineers, driving change, and supporting bids.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing secure, integrated solutions across multiple domains (infrastructure, applications, data, networking, cloud).
• Ability to influence technical strategy and act as a recognised authority within your domain.
• Strong communication skills to engage with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for solution design across large-scale programmes.
• Define and evolve architectures balancing customer needs, enterprise principles and secure-by-design standards.
• Contribute to roadmaps and identify opportunities for technology insertion and innovation.
• Lead technical reviews, trade-off studies, and risk assessments for major design decisions.
• Mentor and coach Solutions Architects and Engineers to raise capability across the community.
• Represent Leonardo at senior customer forums, technical boards and industry events.
• Support business winning including solution strategy, bids and proposal development.
• Champion best practice, reuse and model-based design across the architecture community.
