Job summary

Clifton Search seeks a Senior Sole Counsel for a newly acquired UK arm in the Software/Tech sector. The role is highly autonomous, reporting to the CEO on a global stage, with interactions across international teams and customers.

You will oversee all legal matters, including commercial contracts, cross-border deals, data protection compliance, and regulatory strategy in AI/ML. UK-based, senior leadership experience required.

Qualifications

• UK Qualified Solicitor with senior level/lead experience.
• International experience gained in a Software Tech environment.
• UK based and hands-on with flexible approach.
• US experience helpful is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation.
• Advising and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts.
• Lead on international contracts or those subject to foreign laws.
• Negotiate high-value contracts with customers and partners.
• Support data protection, privacy and consumer protection compliance.
• Oversee AI/ML regulatory strategy and IP portfolio management.
