Job summary

Clifton Search is seeking a UK-based Senior Sole Counsel to lead a newly acquired software/tech division. The role combines standalone leadership with hands-on contract negotiation across global customers and suppliers.

You will manage international agreements, SaaS/IaaS/PaaS licensing, data protection issues, and IP strategy while guiding privacy compliance and regulatory matters for the business.

Qualifications

• UK qualified solicitor with senior/lead experience
• Experience in software/tech sector environments
• Ability to handle international contracts and regulatory issues

Responsibilities

• Full legal responsibility across the newly acquired organisation
• Advising and negotiating on a wide range of commercial contracts
• Leading on international contracts and contracts subject to foreign laws
• Negotiating high-value contracts with customers
• Advising on software licensing, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS arrangements
• Managing global data protection, privacy and consumer protection compliance
• Leading AI/ML regulatory strategy and IP portfolio management
