Job summary

Marks & Spencer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the modernisation of our order management software within the Stock Domain. You will design scalable data services, own features end-to-end, and shape platform APIs for reliable stock visibility and customer experiences.

You will collaborate with Product Managers and Fulfilment teams, drive observability with Dynatrace, and mentor engineers while advancing a culture of engineering excellence across the stock platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience building data-intensive distributed systems at scale.
• Proficient in JVM languages such as Java or Kotlin andMicronaut.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
• Strong data modeling, data contracts and integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve reliable data services and APIs using Java and Micronaut.
• Own features end-to-end from design to production monitoring.
• Shape the Stock Platform's APIs and event flows across systems.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices across teams.
