Job summary

IonQ in Oxford, England is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Transport Software team to develop ion transport control software for trapped-ion quantum computers. You will work with physicists to define and implement high-performance waveform generation and DAC control across hundreds to thousands of channels.

Qualifications

Experience with systems programming languages and performance-sensitive computing.
Ability to collaborate with physicists and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver production-grade software.
Comfort with rapidly evolving requirements in a high-technical environment.

Responsibilities

Develop ion transport framework translating specifications into voltage waveform data for hundreds to thousands of DAC channels.
Synthesize voltage waveform data with electromagnetic models to drive ion traps.
Collaborate with experimental/theoretical scientists to define requirements for experiment and simulation.
Contribute to design of transport operations and their calibration and parametrisation.
Interface with runtime, FPGA, and electronics teams to shape overall system architecture.
