Job summary

Clear Street is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the next generation EMS for listed futures and options. You’ll work on a high-performance platform with real-time data, low-latency exchange connectivity, robust risk controls, and a responsive web interface.

You will collaborate across product, traders, and backend teams to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions while upholding engineering standards and ensuring operational health with strong SLA adherence.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience using Java.
• At least 4 years of experience with modern technologies and Senior Engineer level responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience building and supporting low-latency, front-office trading systems.
• Deep understanding of execution management systems (EMS).
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Collaborative mindset and team-oriented work approach.
• Commitment to engineering quality, reliability, and maintainability.
• Passion for delivering a best-in-class developer experience with tooling and performance.

Responsibilities

• Build a brand new EMS platform for Listed Futures and Options.
• Translate requirements into clean, well-tested components.
• Collaborate with product, traders, designers and engineers to deliver high-quality experiences.
• Identify and resolve performance, accessibility, and usability issues across the app.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared libraries and standards.
• Support the operational health of features and maintain high SLA.
