Job summary

Civica is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and implement scalable software solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment in Greater London. You will help drive high-quality outcomes with cross-functional teams and contribute to architectural decisions.

You will lead code reviews, champion best practices, and mentor junior engineers while delivering on product goals and timelines.

Qualifications

• Expert in Go and React; experience with C#, .NET and Angular is desirable.
• Proficient in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
• Experienced with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
• Deep knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD, containerization.
• Expertise in database design and management (SQL, NoSQL).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and iterative development.
• Experience modernising legacy applications.

Responsibilities

• Design, development and implementation of software applications with scalability, performance, and security in mind.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and maintainability.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate with product, UX/UI and stakeholders.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software issues; deliver timely solutions.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, code, and processes.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and advocate for beneficial improvements.
