Job summary

Civica is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in the UK. In this role, you will design, develop and implement scalable software solutions, collaborating with product managers, designers and stakeholders to deliver value.

You will mentor juniors, perform code reviews, advocate for best practices, and stay ahead of technologies such as Go, React, C#, .NET and Angular, with a strong focus on TDD, CI/CD and cloud.

Qualifications

• Expert in Go and React with experience in C#, .NET and Angular.
• Proficient in Test-Driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
• Experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
• Deep knowledge of DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization).
• Expert in database design and management (SQL, NoSQL).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with debugging ability.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and modernising legacy apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, development and implementation of software applications with a focus on scalability, performance and security.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and maintainability.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Identify and troubleshoot software issues and implement timely fixes.
• Create and maintain documentation for software design, code and processes.
