Job summary

Millbrook Healthcare Group is seeking a senior/lead software engineer to steer a small product engineering team in Southampton. You will stay close to the code, set direction, and make pragmatic architecture decisions to help the team deliver reliably.

The estate combines modern .NET/React with legacy VB.NET and SQL-heavy systems. You will own the current stack, decide what to modernise in place, and work toward clearer APIs, automated testing and better CI/CD in Azure.

Qualifications

• Senior or lead software engineer with hands-on delivery.
• Strong C#/.NET and API/web applications experience.
• Front-end experience with React/TypeScript.
• Strong SQL and relational database understanding.
• Good judgement around architecture and trade-offs.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and cloud delivery.
• People leadership or readiness to take it on.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and ensure reliable delivery.
• Lead solution design and document key decisions.
• Line manage engineers and coach through reviews.
• Improve standards for testing, logging, CI/CD, and observability.
• Diagnose production issues with telemetry and profiling.
