Job summary

HENSOLDT UK is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own software design from specification through verification. You will contribute to new products and enhance existing software, ensuring high quality and reliability for maritime radar systems.

Based in Enfield, North London, the role involves collaboration with customers and colleagues across the business. The ideal candidate has strong C++, experience with the full software lifecycle, and good communication skills in English.

Qualifications

Excellent understanding of C++.
Experience taking projects through the software development life cycle.
Good English communication skills, written and verbal.
Good understanding of Visual Studio 2022/2026.
GUI/UX or HCI experience desirable.
Knowledge of Python and PowerShell desirable.
A good degree in a relevant subject.

Responsibilities

To use good engineering practice to produce software for new, innovative and profitable products and solutions.
To support and enhance existing software in accordance with commercial requirements.
Responsible for specification, design, implementation, testing and maintenance of software to support the company’s products and services.
Undertakes additional project tasks as required by management.
To provide support and advice to less experienced colleagues.
To act as a role model for junior staff.
Technical liaison within and outside HENSOLDT UK with customers, suppliers and collaborators on software related matters.
Any other tasks associated with this role.
