Job summary

Civica is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our UK-based engineering team. You will design, develop and implement scalable software solutions, review code, and mentor junior engineers.

You will work closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into high-quality software, while documenting design decisions and processes. The role emphasizes collaboration across teams, modernising legacy systems, and staying current with emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• Expert in Go and React; experience with C#, .NET and Angular preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
• Experience with TDD and automated testing.
• Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization).
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement software applications.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices and quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers and stakeholders to gather requirements.
• Create and maintain documentation for software design and processes.
