Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for the Amazon Connect platform in Nottingham. The role blends in-office collaboration (Tue-Thu) with remote work, driving architectural decisions and delivering secure, scalable backend services on AWS.

You will own deployments end-to-end, mentor engineers, and contribute to a resilient, observable service with a focus on test-driven development and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Production-grade software experience and SDLC knowledge.
• Ability to lead by example and mentor engineers.
• Design and own end-to-end software deployments and back-end architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop with Node/TypeScript or Go as primary language.
• Work with AWS serverless services and Amazon Connect.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Jenkins.
• Monitor and troubleshoot in a distributed system with logs and metrics.
