Job summary

Tessl is a fast-growing London startup building AI-native software development tools. Join as a Software Engineer to shape real-time AI-native workflows and tooling, working autonomously with cutting-edge AI tools in a high-trust environment.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, and the wider Engineering team to bring AI Native development to life, balancing speed with thoughtful execution and strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (typically 5+ years or equivalent) as a Software Engineer.
• Comfortable contributing to a mature codebase with CI criteria or rapid prototypes.
• Proven experience leveraging AI coding tools to accelerate work.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-autonomy environments.
• Experience using AI tools in daily work and openness to new AI approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new functionality discussed with product team.
• Spin up PoCs to showcase innovative ideas.
• Rapidly prototype new language integration for the code-gen pipeline and plan scalable implementation.
• Pair with a designer to refine UI/ CLI interactions for a better UX.
• Integrate third-party services (e.g., notifications) to focus on Tessl core capabilities.
• Collaborate across teams to plan architecture supporting platform collaboration.
• Establish end-to-end testing strategy for production deployments.
• Share technical vision for a new product capability with the team.
