Job summary

Veson Nautical seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead end-to-end valuations platforms, mentoring peers and owning major code areas. You will work across a PHP, Python, and Node.js stack with MySQL/AWS, guiding AI-assisted workflows and responsible for design, testing, and production deployment.

You will collaborate with teams to ensure robust APIs, data pipelines, and integrations, driving quality and contextual AI usage within a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with PHP, Python, or Node.js/JavaScript.
• Proficient with relational databases, ideally MySQL.
• Comfortable across the full SDLC from refinement to deployment.
• Ability to break large problems into small tasks and drive delivery autonomously.
• Experience communicating technical solutions to engineers at different levels.
• Computer Science background — degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive significant projects end-to-end from design to rollout.
• Own codebase areas and mentor teammates.
• Build and maintain APIs and data pipelines for daily valuations.
• Review AI-generated output for correctness, security, and architecture fit.
• Collaborate across teams and with clients on technical challenges.
• Translate business needs into well-scoped user stories and designs.
